House prices climbed £2,500 in September in the fastest rise over three-months since the height of the property boom, according to the Halifax.
Prices rose by 1.6% on the Halifax House Price Index for September to an average of £163,533. This equates to a £2,672 rise on the start of the year and an increase of more than £9,000 on the index's recent low point of £154,490 in April. House prices are rising at 2.8% on a three-monthly basis, the highest three-month property inflation figure since the first three months of 2007 and the property market boom.
