Baillie Gifford bond manager Thompson to leave industry

Baillie Gifford High Yield Bond fund manager Ben Thompson plans to leave the group next month to work outside the financial services industry.

Thompson will be replaced by Rob Baltzer, and Donald Philips on the High Yield Bond vehicle, while Torcail Stewart will take over his co-manager responsibilities on Baillie Gifford Corporate Bond fund alongside Stephen Rodger. "We are very sad to see Ben go and thank him for his contribution to Baillie Gifford over the past nine years; we wish him the best of luck in his new life," Baillie Gifford head of intermediary sales Ken Edwards says.
