Nikko Asset Management has listed the first ETF in Asia tracking the MSCI Japan index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).
Although there are existing ETFs tracking the MSCI Japan index listed on NYSE Arca and other exchanges, Nikko's Listed Index Fund Japan Equity on the TSE provides domestic investors with efficient local access. As the underlying index comprises Japanese equities that will be traded at the same time of day as the ETF, there is a smaller chance of deviations between ETF prices and the net assets per unit.
