HSBC today launches Workplace Retirement Services (WRS) for corporate IFAs and employee benefits consultants to offer defined contribution (DC) pension products and services.
WRS will offer contract-based group personal pensions (GPPs) and stakeholder pensions for employees. HSBC has also created a new fund platform for large trust-based DC pension schemes as part of the new business. "We have been listening to intermediaries, understanding their needs and concerns with the current market," says Rob Pearce, head of WRS. "We understand many of their clients see the administration of a pension as more of a burden than the contributions they make.
