When quizzed on whether it is fair the regulator has immunity from both negligence and gross negligence, chief executive Hector Sants said he is "happy" to consider the FSA's accountability in light of changed public perceptions. But the FSA chief appeared ill at ease when grilled on the question of accountability, conceding it is a "complex" area.
