Major ETF providers are planning to convene next week to consider the formation of a European industry association.
The second and third biggest firms in Europe - Lyxor and db x-trackers - have issued an invitation to their main competitors to discuss establishing a "more comprehensive body" in a conference call. Lyxor head of ETF strategy Nizam Hamid said: "I cannot say for sure whether it will happen or not, but we feel it is an opportune moment to have that type of discussion."
