Northern Trust has completed its acquisition of Bank of Ireland Securities Services (BoISS), assuming the role of fund administrator and custodian to ETF businesses across Europe.
The €60m sell-off, first announced in February, comes as Bank of Ireland attempts to boost its capital as part of the terms of the EU-IMF bailout of Ireland. Northern Trust Ireland head Clive Bellows said: "Northern Trust is now a leader in ETF product development and service solutions for global ETF issuers." ETF provider Source said BoISS's bespoke systems developments had helped the business manage the acceleration of trading activity on its ETP platform and that operational activities, client reporting and regular contacts would continue without disruption through the takeover....
