Hector Sants, the current chief executive of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), and Bank of England governor Mervyn King have been named among the most influential people in the European capital markets.
They are among the top ten most influential regulators in the annual list put together by Financial News magazine. Mario Draghi, the soon-to-be president of the European Central Bank, was named the most influential regulator in the chart which lists the top ten individuals in ten different sectors. Mike Faulkner, chief executive of P-Solve, was the most influential asset manager, ahead of Elizabeth Corley, CEO of Allianz Global Investors Europe. Barclays group chief executive Bob Diamond made the top ten CEOs.
