Osborne to deliver Autumn Statement on 29 November

The Chancellor has confirmed he will deliver his Autumn Statement on 29 November, on the same day as the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) issues its latest economic forecasts.

George Osborne announced the date to MPs during Treasury questions on Tuesday. The Autumn Statement replaced the scrapped Pre-Budget report last year and gives the Chancellor an opportunity to update MPs on the state of the economy and give a response to the OBR forecasts. In March, the OBR warned growth rates will remain below 3% for the next five years, predicting a figure of 1.7% for this year.
