Head teachers may join in a day of strikes over reforms of their pensions on 30 November.
The National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) will ballot members over joining in the strike action, as will nine other unions including Unison, Unite, Prospect and the GMB. If NAHT chooses to strike, it will be the first time in the union's 114-year history. The news comes as the British Medical Association has announced it will not ballot members for strike action on 30 November. Union leaders said they felt full strike action would be "inappropriate" for doctors at this time, but said it would continue to campaign against the reforms in other ways.
