Investors who enjoy a flutter might be drawn to the 0.1% bonus being offered on Santander's Major ISA in the event of Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy winning a major tournament over the next two years.
This is in addition to the 4% interest rate on offer from Santander for the two-year term ISA. McIlroy is sponsored by the bank. In a bid to appeal to middle England the campaign will begin on 8 March and will also promote the bank's newly-launched 123 Current Account. Data on top ISA rates released yesterday by independent financial research company Defaqto, showed that Santander had provided the highest ISA rates for the last three years at 3.15% last year and 3.5% in 2010 for its Flexible ISA Issue 3, and Flexible ISA respectively.
