Trump drops legal challenge against pensioner

Millionaire business tycoon Donald Trump has dropped a claim for legal costs against a pensioner who opposed his plans to build a golf course on her land.

Molly Forbes, 88, from Balmedie in Aberdeenshire, took Trump and her county council to court in 2010 to fight Trump International Golf Links from evicting her from her home and building a £750m golf course on the site. Forbes was refused legal aid and was forced to withdraw her legal challenge as a result. However, Trump's firm claimed this left the pensioner liable for its £50,000 legal costs bill. Forbes vowed that if Trump's claim for legal costs succeeded, she would pay him back at a rate of 5p per week as she needed to buy a new washing machine and presents for her grandchildr...
