FSA bans mortgage adviser jailed for fraud

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has banned a mortgage adviser following his role in a multi-million pound fraud, for which he was sentenced earlier this year.

Brian Lambert, a former director at Talk Mortgage Services, is prohibited from performing any function in relation to any regulated activity. In January, Lambert was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment after being convicted the previous September of one count of conspiracy to defraud. He was a member of a gang plotting to con millions out of mortgage lenders by using the stolen identities of home owners with large, mortgage-free homes.
