A financial adviser from Henley-on-Thames has been jailed for 14 months after giving false financial advice to an elderly woman.
Sanjay Parmar admitted four counts of fraud by abuse of position when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court, according to the Henley Standard. Parmar, 43, a registered independent financial adviser, was entrusted to provide financial advice to the victim. The 93-year-old woman wrote four cheques totalling £58,000 between April and July 2010 after being told they would be paid into her savings account.
