The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and the London School of Economics are launching a major piece of academic work looking at risk taking within financial services.
As part of the work, the researchers are conducting in depth qualitative interviews with chief risk officers as well as undertaking surveys of individuals working for financial services institutions to provide some quantitative data. A CII spokesperson said: "We are helping with respect to [the surveys] through a CII member survey which should help to uncover certain pressure points in organisations which drive risk taking/ and risk aversion behaviour." Results are due shortly and they will then be evaluated. The project is expected to conclude next summer.
