Trevor Matthews steps down as Aviva UK CEO

Trevor Matthews, chief executive of Aviva UK, is to step down from the role.

Matthews joined the board of Aviva in December 2011 and also became a member of Aviva's executive committee. Aviva said he will not stand for re-election at the group's 2013 annual general meeting and will step down from the Board on the day prior to the AGM. Matthews will continue in an advisory capacity for a number of months to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities, Aviva said. It is one of a number of changes at the business.
