Money Advice Service chairman to step down

Gerard Lemos, the chairman of the Money Advice Service (MAS), is to stand down at the end of September when his three-year term of office comes to an end.

Lemos became chairman of the Consumer Finance Education Body in September 2010.  Since then, he has overseen the transformation of the organisation into the MAS as well as the launch of its web, phone and face-to-face services. Caroline Rookes joined the service as chief executive in November 2012. Lemos said: "I am proud of all the progress the MAS has made in a short space of time, helping over 2.5 million people in less than two years.
