An IFA who has been plagued by phone calls from pension liberation promoters has decided to fight back against this shadowy part of the industry by reporting the firms to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The IFA - who did not want to be named - said he took a call from someone who identified herself as "Laura at Pensions Solutions in Bolton" on 30 April, calling on the number 01204 528432. A Google search of the number finds that it belongs to Carlton & Digby, a 'Pension Services' business based in Bolton. 'Laura' referred to the IFA's frozen pension with Aviva. He had not disclosed this information to anyone - but has received three phone calls from pension liberation-type companies in recent weeks regarding it.
