CII launches pensions freedom exam 'bridging' unit

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has launched a 'bridging' exam unit in light of the pension freedoms rolled out on 6 April.

The Pensions Update Programme (R08) is for planners, paraplanners and those in similar roles to bridge their current qualifications to comply with the pension changes. Candidates can pre-enrol from 30 April and have access to study materials from May, with exams beginning in August. R08 caters to all advisers and paraplanners who hold an existing pensions exam. It will also provide ten Diploma-level credits to contribute towards the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
