Ex-Thames River trio to join Liontrust

Former Thames River managers Kristof Bulkai, Patrick Cadell and Hugo Rogers are to join Liontrust Asset Management to run global portfolios.

The trio ran the long/short Directional Opportunities and Water & Agriculture funds at F&C, and will run similar products at Liontrust. Bulkai and Rogers joined Thames River in 2008, while Cadell joined from Nevsky Capital in 2013. Their investment strategy sees them focus on stocks, sectors and countries “experiencing fundamental change”, Liontrust said. Following their arrival, Liontrust will launch a Dublin-domiciled Global Strategic Equity fund, with a significant weighting to emerging markets, at the end of May, and a water and agriculture fund later this year.
