  Dividend nosedive? Clients may have become worried for their investment income after reading an article in the Telegraph on Saturday that suggested 'dividend cover' on UK equity shares was plummeting. Dividend cover is a key number for equity income fund managers - it is the ratio by which a company's earnings exceed its dividend. A dividend is considered under threat if the cover falls below 1.5. The article showed a chart listing the 'dividend cover' on stocks in the FTSE All-Share dating back 20 years, which indicated it was dropping fast and has already slumped to its lowes...
