The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has changed the names of two of its adviser awards and eliminated a further two, while introducing new specialist categories, in an overhaul of its awards programme.
The professional body cancelled its diploma awards 'highest achiever' and 'highest achiever advanced' and swapped them for three specialist adviser awards: retirement and later life advice; investment advice; and mortgage & protection advice specialist of the year. It also changed the name of its John Ellis award - named after the former Chartered Insurance Institute director of public affairs, who had campaigned vigorously for professionalism, including compulsory examination for advisers - to special award for outstanding contribution.
