The financial challenges of the summer may not be the last of the year's market volatility, Tilney Bestinvest managing director Jason Hollands has warned investors.
Hollands challenged the old adage that investors should "sell in May" and return to the markets in September, particularly in respect of events this year. Despite the surprising resilience of the stock market in the face of a ‘rocky start' to the year, as he referred to the "Chinese markets nosediving and a bloody rout for commodities", investors should not necessarily predict this buoyancy will continue into the second half of 2016, he said.
