SJP extends lead as UK's largest private asset manager

St James's Place (SJP) has consolidated its position as the UK's largest private asset manager, according to the 2016 Private Asset Managers (PAM) directory.

The wealth manager saw a year-on-year increase of 12.7% in assets under management (AUM) to reach a total of £58.6bn as of 31 December 2015. In second place, Coutts had £49.24bn in AUM at the end of 2015. With the firm having seen a less than 1% increase on the previous year's total of £48.77bn, however, the gap between first and second therefore widened from £3.23bn at the end of 2014 to £9.36bn 12 months later. The PAM directory shows Barclays in third place with £44.15bn in AUM, UBS Wealth Management fourth with £31.68bn and HSBC fifth with £29.42bn. Brewin Dolphin, Investec Wealth...
