'Women lose out relative to men'

With days to go before International Women's Day and the 2017 Budget, Baroness Ros Altmann offered some thoughts on the gender divide in pensions, and the changes she'd like to see in the upcoming Budget.

For Altmann (pictured) there are many failings in today's pension system and not enough is being done to make the system fair for women. The former pensions minister explained women's lives were different to men's due to their societal and family roles, and the pensions system had failed to make proper allowances for this. "Sadly it seems to be a male dominated environment which does not really take proper account of how some of these policies effect women," she said.
