A former office manager at Friendly Pension has been convicted of withholding information in a suspected £13.75m pension scam investigation.
Karen Turgut refused to give information to The Pensions Regulator (TPR) and failed to supply documents as part of the investigation into the master trust. She was ordered to pay more than £4,000 at Brighton magistrates' court after being convicted under section 72 of the Pensions Act 2004. The case is the third criminal conviction secured by TPR. Refused to cooperate The regulator first began investigating Friendly Pension in 2015 for misappropriated scheme funds and poor trustee governance.
