Law firm Peters & Peters is to represent 122 high net-worth investors, including former football stars, looking to sue advisers over losses incurred after investing in Ingenious Media film tax schemes.
The group of investors, which the law firm says includes a number of sports professionals, maintain they were mis-sold investments in the film tax schemes between 2000 and 2013. Investors claimed they now faced "significant tax liabilities" as a result of the mis-sold investments. Peters & Peters has commenced legal proceedings against professional agents and financial advisers who sold, recommended or marketed the Ingenious schemes.
