Brewin Dolphin to buy Basingstoke-based IFA

Two advisers to move with the firm

Brewin Dolphin is in the process of acquiring Basingstoke-based advice firm Aylwin for an undisclosed sum.

The firm's two financial advisers, as well as support staff, will move to Brewin Dolphin's new Winchester office when the deal completes in early 2019. Alywin director David de Kretser will head up the office. The move is part of Brewin Dolphin's strategy to grow its business in the south of England. "I am pleased to tell you my co-director Derek Langton and I will continue to look after your financial planning needs from Brewin Dolphin's new offices in Winchester," de Kretser wrote in a letter to clients, informing them of the deal.
