Franklin Templeton has launched the third "buy and hold" sub fund of the Templeton Opportunities Funds (FTOF) range, with a focus on engaging underlying companies on ESG risks such as carbon emissions and water usage.
The fixed maturity Franklin Green Target Income 2024 fund invests primarily in higher yielding, euro-denominated debt securities issued by corporations globally with a pre-determined yield at the time of investments over a five-year period. Managed by head of European fixed income David Zahn and vice president and portfolio manager from Franklin Templeton Fixed Income Group Rod MacPhee, the fund will use top-down analysis of macroeconomic trends, combined with bottom-up fundamental analysis to identify investment opportunities.
