Halifax-based Parkin Beacher has been fined £50,000 by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for cold calling.
The company, identifying itself as either Your Pension Options or Pension Choice, admitted to making nearly 100,000 calls relating to possible pension reviews, aiming to arrange an introduction to an adviser. Your Pension Options was investigated after 16 complaints - received between 1 February 2019 and 30 September 2019 - were registered with the ICO, and an enforcement notice has now been issued to the company to require it to cease calls.
