Advisers should be analysing fund managers' voting practices to ensure they align with their stated goals when trying to verify their green credentials, delegates at SIF heard at an adviser panel.
Damien Lardoux, head of impact investing at EQ Investors, called on advisers to study the available information and ask more questions of fund managers. He brought up the recent Net Zero Asset Managers initiative - which saw many in the asset management industry commit to a goal of net zero emissions - as an example of where to look.
