The majority (95%) of advisers have said that the industry needs to invest heavily in new technology to help improve their understanding of ESG and climate risks.
This is according to research from Ortec Finance among 100 advisers during June 2023. Nearly all (98%) advisers said they are "increasing their focus" on ESG credentials in their investment portfolios, while more than a third (36%) have said they have seen a dramatic increase in client focus. Meanwhile, 98% of advisers have said that ESG issues are at the forefront of clients' considerations when looking at their portfolios. The research also found that 96% of advisers said clients are avoiding companies that have a harmful impact on the environment or contribute to climate change....
