Both Labour and the Conservatives should put clear social funding pledges into their manifestos ahead of the general election after both parties failed to address the issue at their respective conferences, Aegon has said.
The provider called for social care to be put back on the political agenda as a key issue for both parties. It pointed out that the government's social care funding deal was meant to be in operation now but had been put on hold last autumn. The two-year delay now sees the implementation date after the next general election meaning there is a "big question over what could happen next", according to Aegon.
