Policy watch… The FCA began the month by writing to platform bosses about its concern over fees not being properly disclosed in a ‘Dear CEO' letter. The watchdog the day after then banned incompetent IFA Simon Hughes over British Steel advice and made him pay £158,000 to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme to contribute to redress due to his clients.
