I’m getting whiplash when it comes to bonds.
They are, supposedly, back in fashion after the challenges of 2022 and 2023 – the fund managers are telling us so. However, new Defaqto research this week showed advisers are recommending bonds less than they were 12 months ago. According to the findings, only 35% of advisers said they would recommend onshore bonds with 19% confirming they would recommend international bonds. Overall, advisers are recommending an average 1.48 types of different bonds at the moment, which is down from 2.76 different times this time last year.
