Financial services industry must do more to offer targeted support

Targeted support seen as a crucial part of the advice journey

Targeted support is “a very positive step” in advice but the industry “needs to do more” to put it into practice, according to Legal & General (L&G).

Speaking today (21 May) on a panel at Altus Consulting's Advice Guidance Boundary Review: Solving the Investments Crisis conference, L&G head of product policy strategy Colin Clarke said he does not expect the government to announce legislation to enforce targeted support anytime soon, "so we as an industry need to do more". "We see targeted support as a crucial part of the advice journey. Why shouldn't everybody be entitled to get that help?" he told delegates. Clarke also said it is "concerning" that some people believe they are going to be comfortable in retirement but they are not...
