The Labour government continues to face calls to simplify ISAs and make other key changes, while figures shared today showed that some Lifetime ISA (LISA) holders have faced withdrawal penalties of more than £11,000.
In the run up to the Autumn Budget, scheduled for 30 October, calls have intensified for ISA changes. Speaking at PA360 North earlier this week, AJ Bell head of public policy Rachel Vahey outlined that a simplification of the ISA system needs to happen. "We would like ISA simplification to be in the budget," Vahey told delegates, as she labelled it "daft" to have six different types of ISAs.
