PE backer sells Shackleton to Lee Equity Partners

Succeeds current investor Sovereign Capital Partners

Advice firm Shackleton has entered into a definitive agreement for a majority investment from private equity (PE) firm Lee Equity Partners, subject to regulatory approval.

Confirmed today (17 June), Lee Equity will succeed Shackleton's current PE investor, Sovereign Capital Partners who first invested in Skerritts, one of Shackleton's founding firms, in March 2021. Since Sovereign's investment, the business has undertaken 18 acquisitions to expand its footprint across the UK. The Skerritts group rebranded to Shackleton in December 2024. Shackleton said that Lee Equity's investment will support its ambitions as it continues to "capitalise on strong organic growth momentum and opportunities arising from industry consolidation".
