Does it make a difference to the client how an adviser fee is charged? Dave Miller, head of portal at Avelo, says it does. And he's got the figures to prove it...

It seems that clients are still choosing to pay adviser fees through the product. Early post-Retail Distribution Review (RDR) trading figures show that, to date, RDR has not affected how clients are choosing to pay adviser fees, with the majority still preferring to pay through the product. Skandia has claimed 97% of its adviser charging is being done in this way and I've spoken to many providers saying a similar thing.
