I listened to a debate on the radio at the end of last year that I felt had a striking resemblance to the UK platform market. The contributors were talking about computer games and computer games consoles. The games, they argued, were all available within a tolerable price range, notwithstanding special offers and promotions. As a result, gamers have very little price sensitivity despite the console makers' constant protests on their behalf. The gamers were more 'release time' sensitive than price sensitive.
