Following the recent draft withdrawal agreement, we have just one year to run before the UK ceases to be a formal member of the European Union - subject, of course, to the principle that ‘nothing is agreed until everything is agreed'. So provided that over the next 12 months the UK and the EU can find a resolution to the Irish border issue and the minor matter of Gibraltar, and determine the nature of our long-term future trading relationship with Europe, in a year's time nothing much will change.
