Sorry to break it to you, but paraplanning isn't a profession. Now hear me out: I love paraplanning and dedicated my whole career to it. I believe we are vital to the advice process, and we all do an amazing job.  However, it's not a profession. I wish it was and I believe it should be, but it's not and to be honest, this annoys me. I had a little Google, and this was the definition of a profession: "A paid occupation, especially one that involves prolonged training and a formal qualification."   Can you spot the issue with us calling paraplanning a profession?
