IFA beats IA in six-year structured product challenge

IA pledges £250 donation to charity

IFA Lowes Financial Management has won a challenge against the Investment Association (IA) that pitted the performance of a portfolio of structured products against a tracker fund over a six-year period.

At the end of the challenge in December, Lowes Financial Management's portfolio of structured products had risen by 81%, while the IA's tracker fund of choice - the HSBC FTSE 100 Index Fund - had increased by 62%. The structured product portfolio comprised five investments from the Lowes' "Recommended Product List", as of June 2011. They were the Morgan Stanley FTSE Defensive Digital Growth Plan 4, Morgan Stanley FTSE Kick Out Growth Plan 11, Gilliat Growth Multiplier June 2011 Edition, Investec FTSE 100 Geared Returns Plan 26 - Option 2 (UK 5) and Meteor Dynamic FTSE Growth Plan 2 - Inv...
