Despite being an adviser to the prime minister's policy unit, Dr Ros Altmann could be considered to be the government's chief nemesis on the subject of pensions.
At the moment, Altmann is involved in two legal battles against the government over the lack of compensation to workers who have lost their pensions when the firms collapsed. She is currently awaiting the results of an inquiry by the public administration select committee before she continues with a judicial review against the government, in particular, the department for work and pensions (DWP) for alleged breach of the Human Rights Act.
