Here are five things clients may have read in the weekend's papers…

Stamp duty HM Revenue & Customs has set its sights on thousands of homeowners who may have under-paid stamp duty, according to the Sunday Times. A recent court case ruled about 190 homeowners will now have to pay a total of £7m, with more to follow. Investment trusts The Mail on Sunday's list of seven ‘golden shares' for income are all investment trusts. To qualify, funds and trusts needed to have least £150m of underlying assets, widely invested across a range of UK or global shares. Yields must exceed 3.7%.
