Protection specialists have said that it is important for wealth advisers to have solid protection knowledge and up protection services, as there is a current knowledge gap in the industry.
In our latest PA Asks, we asked the industry how comfortable they feel advising on protection. Out of the 37 who responded, 65% said they are very comfortable, 27% are somewhat comfortable, 5% are not very comfortable and 3% were unsure. One pundit said: "If you tend to deal with older clients, often with secure incomes and other wealth, they have much less of a natural need for protection and of course many protection policies are age limited or very expensive.
