Gov't response to PASC is 'shameful'

The government's response to the Public Administration Select Committee has been described as an "outrage" and "shameful" by an independent consultant.

Dr Ros Altmann, who has been campaigning on behalf of the Pensions Action Group (PAG) to try and restore the pensions of around 85,000 workers following the collapse of their schemes, says the government’s response is unbelievable. The 12-page response from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) says it stands by the position it set out in its response to the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s report “Trusting in the Pensions Promise”, and continues to deny the accusations of maladministration levelled at it by both the Ombudsman and the PASC.
