Another consumer survey suggests despite a desire to save, taxation and other factors mean most people will ultimately end up living in varying degrees of poverty in retirement.
EveryInvestor’s survey of 611 adults aged 20-50, selected randomly from the database of Internet Market Research Service, found half those questioned were banking on an inheritance to support their own retirement, while more than 60% would seek to move abroad if unable to make ends meet in the UK - even thought it is uncertain they could afford such a move in the first place. The desire to save over the long term was strong, however, with more than eight in 10 stating they would save up to £200 per month towards retirement if the government matched contributions with £1 on top of every £2 ...
