Chief executive of Zurich Financial Services Lawrence Churchill is to become the first chairman of the Pensions Protection Fund, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Andrew Smith MP revealed last week.
Speaking at the NAPF conference in Glasgow last Thursday, Smith said Churchill will chair be the first person to chair the PPF when it is coming into effect next year. He said Churchill is a "respected figure" in the financial services industry. "His leadership and the experience he brings will help get the Protection Fund off to a good start," he added. IFAonline
