Pension campaigners have expressed their delight at the House of Lords support for the establishment of a pension protection lifeboat fund.
Dr Ros Altmann, an independent consultant and pension campaigner, says the vote in the House of Lords - which passed the amendments to the Pension Bill by 181 votes to 126 - is a victory for social justice and Parliamentary democracy. She says: “The House of Commons needs to carefully note the outcome and recognise the urgent need to provide a fair and final resolution of this scandal.
